Prof Becker is directly involved in seven international multicentre randomized double blind comparative trials - four of which have already been completed. The group has been highly commended in several trials for their drug accountability. The multinational randomized double blind study to compare the efficacy and safety of a new synthetic penta saccharide with a low molecular weight heparin (dalteparin) in the prevention of venous thrombo-embolism in high-risk abdominal surgery, evoked a highly laudable response from the international scene.
