To assess the knowledge of attitudes towards NIDDM and exercise in a sample of urban black female patients with NIDDM in the Mamelodi Community near Pretoria. To test and assess the sample group's exercise capacity and quality of life. To implement an exercise programme. To measure the outcome of the intervention
