Economically important diseases of livestock in the sub-Saharan region

This theme deals with aspects particularly relevant to the epidemiology, diagnosis, control and eradication of selected infectious and parasitic diseases of cattle, sheep and goats. Special attention is given to vectors and vector-borne diseases, especially ticks and tick-borne diseases, tsetse and trypanosomosis, and Culicoides- and mosquito-borne diseases. Research topics include vector competence studies and molecular techniques to detect infectious agents or antigens in hosts and vectors
