Anatomy and Physiology

An in-depth study of fundamental anatomical and physiological aspects of growth, lactation, digestion, adaptation and reproduction of livestock and wildlife. Different carcass characteristics are studied with the aim of improving meat products to the industry. Risk assessments are done on the ingestion rates of water and water quality constituents, for livestock and wildlife in order to determine risk factors for domestic users. The physiology of digestion and the micro fauna of the digestive system of wild herbivores are studied with reference to habitat use.
