White rust of sunflower

White rust is considered the most damaging sunflower disease in South Africa, and is caused by the obligate parasite Albugo tragopogonis. Research on the disease is difficult, since no greenhouse inoculation techniques are available. The development of such a technique will assist in the study of control methods which will include chemical control
